Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Covid-19 are the two remarkable buzzwords in recent times. AI has seen unprecedented developed by availing technology to fight the Covid-19 crisis. AI has contributed to the virus detection and tracking, and mainly to vaccine production. With 2020 coming to an end, Florian Douetteau, CEO and co-founder of Dataiku talked to Analytics Insight on his predictions of AI policies for 2021. Dataiku provides enterprise AI tools for companies like Pfizer, GE and Unilever.

The year 2020 took us on a roller coaster ride. A lot of technological changes happened in every sector. Starting from healthcare to manufacturing, business, automobile and education, everything took a U-turn in a single year. No one has ever imagined that people will stay at home on lockdowns and work and learn through remote modes. As we are almost at the end of the year, the train to'somewhere' in automation is still on the track.

We've heard this oscillating narrative over the last few years (and will continue to in the future), but in this unprecedented year, one thing became clear -- enterprises need to find a way to safely, creatively, and boldly apply AI to emerge stronger both in the short-term and in the long-term. The kinks in AI still remain: lack of trust, poor data quality, data paucity for some, and a dearth of the right type of tools and talent. The time is now for AI to shine.
